I have been using Offline NT Password & Registry Editor to manage user passwords on Windows, but I’m curious if there are any better alternatives out there. I know Kon-Boot is popular, but I’d love to hear your thoughts on other options, especially any free ones. What do you recommend?
If you’re looking for a free alternative, ophcrack is great! It uses rainbow tables to recover passwords quickly.
John the Ripper is another solid choice. It’s super versatile and works across many platforms.
Have you tried Knoppix? It’s a live Linux distro that can help with password recovery and has some handy tools.
Direction & Direction Lite is useful too. It’s lightweight and focuses on password recovery.
Trinity Rescue Kit is great for recovery tasks and includes password resetting tools. Worth a look!
