Hey everyone! I’ve been using Hardwipe to clean up my drives and permanently erase files, but I’m curious if there are any good alternatives out there. I want something reliable for wiping data from my disk and USB drives. Any recommendations?
Have you tried Eraser? It’s a solid choice for securely deleting files and is also free!
CCleaner also has a file shredder feature. It’s not just for cleaning up junk files; you can use it to wipe data too.
Nice! I’ve heard of CCleaner. Does it work well for large files?
Absolutely! It’s pretty efficient, even with larger files. Just make sure to use the shredder option.
BleachBit is another great alternative. It’s open-source and can wipe files securely. Plus, it has a lot of other cleaning features.
Consider using DBAN (Darik’s Boot and Nuke) if you need to wipe an entire drive. It’s a bit more advanced but super effective!
If you’re into portable apps, check out USB Disk Security. It can protect and help wipe USB drives effectively.
