Hey all! I’ve been using Submagic for subtitles but I’m looking for a free alternative since Submagic isn’t cutting it for me anymore. Any recommendations for a good, free subtitle tool? Ideally, it should support basic editing and syncing. Thanks!
You should try Aegisub! It’s open-source and offers a lot of great tools for subtitle creation and editing. Plus, it’s free and pretty intuitive once you get the hang of it.
Aegisub sounds perfect! Is it good for syncing subtitles too?
Yup! It has a powerful timing tool, so you can sync subtitles frame by frame. Definitely worth a try!
Subtitle Edit is another solid option. It’s free, supports multiple languages, and has great features for syncing and adjusting subtitles. I’ve been using it for years!
Does Subtitle Edit work with different formats like SRT, ASS, etc.?
Yes, it does! It supports a wide range of formats and can also convert between them. Super handy!
For basic editing, you could also look into Jubler. It’s not as feature-rich as Aegisub, but it’s free and gets the job done for simple subtitle editing and syncing.
Thanks! I might give Jubler a try for some quick edits.
Open Subtitle Editor is another good option. It’s lightweight and free. Perfect for quick edits without all the extra bells and whistles.
That sounds great! I don’t need anything too complicated, so this might work.
I second Aegisub for sure! It’s got everything you need for subtitle creation, editing, and syncing. Plus, it’s been around for a while and still gets updates.
I’m definitely leaning towards Aegisub now. Thanks for the recommendation!
