Hi there, I am searching for suitable FOSS Discord substitutes to make it simple for my friends to transition to an interface they are accustomed to. Ideally, the interface should resemble Discord. I have seen Revolt and liked it when I self-hosted it to experiment with it. But I am wondering if there are any other options. I used Spacebar (formerly Fosscord) before, but they removed their test client tools from GitHub due to DMCA issues. As a result, they patched the clients to prevent URL changes, making it impossible to use the official Discord client.

I used Rocket Chat some years ago. I don’t know if it’s still functional but you could try and see. It was amazing back then.
