I have been using qBittorrent for a while, but I’m curious about other torrent clients. Did anyone get suggestions for the best alternatives? I know qBittorrent is solid, but are there any that offer more features or are just easier to use? Let me know what you all think.
I love Transmission, it’s free and open-source too. It’s got a pretty clean interface and just works without too much fuss. You should give it a try!
I second Transmission! Been using it for years, and it’s super lightweight. Definitely a top alternative.
Deluge is another good one. It’s open-source as well and has a lot of plugins that let you customize it.
I’ve used Deluge before, but it took a bit to figure out the plugins. Still a solid choice if you want more control over your torrents.
Anyone tried Free Download Manager? I like it for general downloads, but IDK how well it handles torrents.
It’s a decent option for downloading stuff, but it’s not really on the same level as qBittorrent for torrent management. Still, worth checking out if you need something all-in-one.
LibreTorrent is a good alternative too, especially if you’re on Android. It’s open-source and does the job well for mobile torrenting.
I’ve been using LibreTorrent on my phone. It’s got a nice, simple interface, but sometimes it’s a bit slow compared to desktop clients.
I’m still a fan of µTorrent. It’s not as open-source, but it’s been around for so long and just works for me.
µTorrent’s fine, but I’ve read that it has some ads now. Not sure if I’m cool with that. Anyone else notice that?
Yeah, I noticed that too. The free version has a lot of ads, which is why I’m leaning towards open-source clients like Transmission or Deluge now.
