What are some good alternatives to VSCodium... any suggestions?

I’ve been using VSCodium for coding, and while it’s been really handy, I’m curious about other options out there. I know it’s based on Visual Studio Code, but I want to see if there are better editors or IDEs that might suit my needs. What have you all found useful?

Notepad++ is a great alternative. It’s free and open source, and it works really well for coding.

You might want to check out Visual Studio Code itself. It has a lot of extensions and features that can really boost productivity.

Isn’t that basically what VSCodium is? What’s the main difference, though?

Yeah, they are similar, but Visual Studio Code includes some proprietary features that VSCodium removes. Just depends on what you need.

Sublime Text is another cool option. It’s not free, but a lot of people swear by its speed and efficiency.

I’ve heard good things about Sublime Text. Is it worth the price, though?

For sure, if you do a lot of coding. The features can really save you time.

Vim is also a classic choice. It has a steep learning curve, but once you get it down, it’s super powerful.

I’ve been meaning to try Vim, but I’ve heard it can be tough to learn. Any tips for getting started?

Just be patient with it. There are plenty of tutorials out there, and practicing is key. You’ll get the hang of it.

Eclipse is also a solid option, especially for Java developers. It has a lot of powerful features for building applications.

Is Eclipse user-friendly, or is it more for advanced users?

It can be a bit overwhelming at first, but it’s pretty intuitive once you learn the basics.
