Hey folks, I’ve been using GeoSpy to find photo locations, and while it’s been okay, I’m on the lookout for better alternatives. I’ve heard of a few like QGIS and ArcGIS, but not sure how they stack up. Anyone have suggestions or experiences with different GIS tools that might work better?
QGIS is definitely a top choice. It’s free and open source, plus it has a ton of features for geolocation. I’ve been using it for a while, and it’s pretty powerful.
I’ve tried Overpass Turbo for some mapping tasks, and it’s pretty neat for specific queries. Not exactly the same as GeoSpy, but it gets the job done for certain things.
ArcGIS is another big player. It’s more of a comprehensive solution, but it can be pricey depending on what you need.
Plus Codes is cool too if you’re looking for something simple to use. It’s great for location coding without needing a full GIS tool.
I’m still trying to figure out which one is the best for my needs. Any tips on how to choose?
