It’s quite amusing; the film leans heavily into dark comedy and features a series of sketches that poke fun at TV commercials, shows, and movies. It’s definitely worth a watch, especially for the spoof trailer of “Catholic School Girls in Trouble.” This was among the first DVDs I ever purchased, and I couldn’t help but laugh during my first viewing. The script was crafted by the trio of Jim Abrahams, David Zucker, and Jerry Zucker, who went on to create classics like The Naked Gun, Airplane!, and Top Secret!.
It’s still my all-time favorite comedy.
Watch Enter the Dragon first, then follow it up with this. Every scene in Fistful of Yen is a direct spoof of specific moments from Enter the Dragon.
Don’t overlook the couple “watching” the news on TV at the movie’s end.
Your popcorn has been tampered with. Stay tuned for the details at 11.
The Groove Tube (1974) is another great example of this.
Amazon Women on the Moon is another example.
