I’ve been using Fossify Paint for my digital art, and I really like its privacy focus and offline capabilities. But I’m curious if there are any other apps out there that might offer something similar or even better. I’ve heard names like GIMP and Krita, but I don’t know much about them. What do you all use?
GIMP is awesome! It’s free and open source, which is a huge plus. It has a lot of features for digital painting and photo editing. Definitely worth trying out!
I’ve heard about GIMP but never tried it. Does it have a steep learning curve?
It can be a bit overwhelming at first, but once you get the hang of it, it’s really powerful. There are plenty of tutorials online that can help!
Krita is fantastic for digital painting! It’s specifically designed for artists and has a ton of brush options and features. I love it!
That sounds great! How does it compare to Fossify Paint?
Krita offers more advanced tools for painting and illustration. It’s definitely more feature-rich, but Fossify Paint is simpler if you prefer that vibe.
If you’re on iPad, Procreate is super popular! It’s really intuitive and perfect for sketching and painting.
Is it only for iPad? I use Android.
Yeah, Procreate is iPad only, but Pocket Paint is a good alternative for Android users. It has a nice set of features for mobile art.
Paint.NET is a solid choice too! It’s more of an image editor but has some painting tools as well. It’s easy to use.
Can it handle layers like Fossify Paint? That’s something I really need.
Yes, it does support layers! So you should be good to go with that.
Filtering through the options sounds smart. There are so many apps available, it can be a bit overwhelming.
Totally agree! How do you filter to find the best ones? I’m lost.
Most platforms have a filter bar where you can sort by Digital Painting Tools or Photo Editors. Just check those categories!
