Hey folks, I’ve been using Quiver Diagram Editor for creating commutative diagrams, and it’s been great for exporting to LaTeX. However, I’m curious if there are other options out there that might work just as well, or even better. I’ve heard about draw.io and LibreOffice - Draw, but I’d love to hear your thoughts. What do you all use for diagram editing?
draw.io is fantastic! It’s free and super user-friendly. You can create diagrams easily, and it has a ton of templates.
I’ve seen that one! Does it have good export options like Quiver?
Yep! You can export to various formats, including PNG and PDF, plus it integrates well with Google Drive.
LibreOffice - Draw is another solid option. It’s part of the LibreOffice suite, so if you need something versatile, it’s worth checking out.
Does it have a lot of features for diagramming? I need something pretty robust.
Absolutely! It has a variety of shapes and connectors, and you can customize pretty extensively.
yEd Graph Editor is pretty neat too! It’s great for creating complex diagrams and has an automatic layout feature.
How intuitive is it? I don’t want to spend ages learning a new tool.
It’s quite user-friendly! Once you get the hang of it, you can create diagrams quickly.
Dia is another option worth considering. It’s open source and has a straightforward interface.
Is it good for UML modeling too? I need something that covers both diagram types.
Yes, it supports UML diagrams along with various other types. It’s a good all-rounder!
I think filtering through the options is a smart approach. There are so many diagram tools out there!
Agreed! How do you filter for the best ones? I’m a bit overwhelmed.
Most sites have a filter bar where you can sort by Diagram Editors or Mind Mapping Tools. Just check those categories!
