Looking for Alternatives to Nugget Video Editor

Hey everyone, I’ve been using Nugget Video Editor for my projects, and while I appreciate the layered editing and motion effects, I’m on the lookout for some alternatives that might offer similar or better features.

Kdenlive seems to be a popular choice and it’s free and open source, which is a big plus. I’ve also heard good things about Shotcut, Avidemux, DaVinci Resolve, and OpenShot.

If anyone has experience with these or other video editing apps, I’d love to hear your thoughts. What do you like or dislike about them? Any recommendations for the best options for flexible video editing would be super helpful. Thanks!

Kdenlive is fantastic for free software. The multi-track editing is really intuitive, and the effects are pretty solid too.

Shotcut has a user-friendly interface and works well for basic edits. I find it quite efficient for quick projects.

Avidemux is great for simple edits like cutting and filtering. It’s not as feature-rich, but it gets the job done quickly.

DaVinci Resolve is more advanced but worth it if you want professional-grade editing. The color correction tools are top-notch.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! I think I’ll start with Kdenlive and Shotcut to see which fits my needs best.
