I’ve been using Brave Search for a while now, and I love that it doesn’t track my searches or clicks. But I’m curious about other options out there. I heard DuckDuckGo is a popular alternative and it’s free, but what about Google Search, Searx, Startpage, and SearXNG? Are they worth checking out? I’m looking for something that respects privacy like Brave Search does.
DuckDuckGo is definitely a solid choice. It’s user-friendly and focuses a lot on privacy, just like Brave.
Yeah, I like DuckDuckGo too. It’s nice not being tracked. Have you tried any of the others?
I’ve used Startpage a bit, and it’s pretty cool. It pulls results from Google but keeps you anonymous.
I recently tried Searx and I liked it. You can customize the engines it pulls results from, which is pretty neat.
That sounds interesting. Is it easy to set up?
Yeah, it’s pretty straightforward. Just pick the sources you want, and you’re good to go.
I’ve heard of SearXNG but haven’t tried it yet. Is it just like Searx?
Pretty much, but SearXNG is a bit more updated and has some new features. Worth checking out if you like Searx.
I still find myself using Google Search sometimes, even though I know it tracks everything. It’s just so convenient.
I get that. Sometimes you can’t beat the results from Google, but it feels weird being tracked all the time.
Exactly. It’s a struggle between convenience and privacy.
I think it’s great that there are so many options now. Just find what works best for you and your privacy needs.
Totally agree. I’ll definitely try out some of these alternatives. Thanks for the suggestions everyone!
